I brown between 1.5 and 2 pounds of cubed beef in mix of seasonings that includes onion powder, garlic powder, chipotle and a few others depending on what strikes my fancy.
Then in a big crockpot I mix 6 cans of drained beans (kidney, black, pinto, etc. Mix the colors up, makes for an attractive look) and TWO cans of fat free Refried Beans. Add the browned beef, a can of diced tomatoes, a can of diced green chilis, and a chopped yellow or white onion.
Let that sucker set on high for 6 hours, stirring and tasting every hour or so.
Voila!
