oh dude, totally go through Columbus, bypass ATL completely. saves you a few miles, really pretty driving - take 431 all the way down to I-185

and drop into Columbus, to Albany, etc. total time it adds about 30 minutes, but you'll lose hours hitting Atlanta around rush hour.
