When discussing sports, he mentioned that this season of baseball won’t mean anything. I’ve had that feeling about many things in 2020 for some time now. Essentially every record book is going to have an asterisk next to 2020. Festivals and sporting events that have never been canceled “except for the day of Kennedy’s assassination” or “except for 9/11” or “except for Pearl Harbor” or... *never never* are now going to have that streak interrupted. Sporting events will have to factor statistics based on shortened seasons. Who’s going to win the NBA championship or the Stanley Cup this year? Doesn’t matter because it won’t be the same as winning it any other year. What pitcher will have pitched the most scoreless innings in 2020? *shrug* Doesn’t matter because it won’t be the same as if he pitched in 2019 or 2021.
What I’m saying is: Support my legislation to have a do-over! On New Year’s Eve, the calendar will roll over to... January 1st, 2020!
