I’m with you there. Free street parking is the devil. Increases congestion, subsidises cars, yada yada.

If there were racks for the scooters like they have for the various bikeshares I’d be fine, but the couple places I’ve been that have them, people just ditch them wherever they happen to be finished with them, and helmets just litter the landscape.
Gimme some functional public transit infrastructure over techbro platforms.
