I think that yes, she is doing it for publicity. Just like Dave has been milking it as well.

Public figures need the spotlight, by definition.

But I do take her at her word that she's drawing this publicity -- at least in part -- to draw attention to this kind of misogynistic attitude that lies behind (and is perpetuated by) jokes like this.

Probably a small part, but a part.
