Biden's situation is challenging in that he must think about who could actually run the country if he dies. And he's notoriously loyal.
We're in a weird place where a genuinely kind old man and proven civil servant takes a PR drubbing if he acts the way he's always acted.
There's about three names on that short list who make perfect sense -- Demings, Bottoms, and Karen Bass. I'd be all for Liz, but it really needs to be an African American woman, just not Harris.
