I think the lack of minorities in and around the game makes the issue of BLM less important to them. They saw what was happening with the NBA and MLB. -- (edited)

They easily could have taken a knee before or during the national anthems. I think a lack of minority voices on or working with the teams is an issue.
Honestly, I didn't expect them to take a knee but seeing Don Jr. this morning made it clear that they missed a big opportunity to show where they stand. And being that the league is 98% white it looks a little worse to me.
