I was thinking about the images I remember from the space race with helicopters dispatched from aircraft carriers.
This time around these are Space X boats and ships that are doing the recovery. The shots from a mission control viewpoint were all from Hawthorne not Houston.
At the same time, all of the in orbit tracking and communications is using NASA networks and those first shots of the Crew Dragon in the atmosphere were from a NASA WB-57 so there's still very much a partnership aspect to the mission
