I figured it was kind of company ethos (Elon?) type of thing. We'll just do it on our own

That truly separate from US and I guess by extension NASA thing is kind of interesting.

Though I guess they fly purely commercial launches from JSC so there must be a fee schedule or something in place to use the launch facilities so that would cover the launch.

Similar fees to use the NASA tracking network if they were to fly an orbital mission with only tourists on it?

Now that I think about it, the recovery ships are one of the things that Space X could have in their control right now.

Between the spacecraft transmitting and their constellation of satellites that could cover communications so I guess that's the next piece that's underway.

They'd still need someplace like JSC or Vanderberg though
