I don't think the CW was the right network for the show and they had to know Americans wouldn't flock to a new show with people they've never heard

Americans won't get a lot of the pop culture references and might have trouble understanding a few people but if they gave the show a fair shake they'd likely love it.
I heard there was an American version that isn't/wasn't good
