In response to "thanks for that. left you a response on B2, if you want to read." by colin

Thanks. Just saw it. Agree with everything you said. There were apparently several shots fired during the looting last night (police say it was at

them (I always put an asterisk on those statements and want to wait and see)). There were also apparently a couple of incidents of bystanders being stabbed (but again, it was a pretty chaotic situation and let's wait and see as things calm down and get investigated). One of the mayor's big arguments this morning during her press conference was that the looters from the prior iteration of looting a couple of months ago went largely unpunished. I guess many were simply released without bail and most prosecutions were just abandoned. They feel that has just made these actions consequence free. It creates this really weird cognitive dissonance. One of the big issues in all of this (as you know) is criminal justice. Incarcerating people for minor crimes (which many of these are) and putting them into a system that continues to hold them down. But this tends to highlight the alternative view that without consequences we just slip into anarchy. It frankly starts to make things seem somewhat hopeless and unsolvable. I don't actually think that's the case, but it really muddies the water. But just so you know (and I think/hope you do), I am firmly with you in what it is you want to accomplish and the need for change. We may disagree on tactics, but not on the goals. Hang in there.
