Yeah, that is odd. I'm always wary of schools deciding treatment for kids. On the flip side, we have been exceptionally happy with our Psychologist

and the process he used to diagnose my wife and then the two kids. It was very methodical and I totally saw the diagnostic process they used to come to the conclusions to provide medications.
Truly, it made a world of difference for my wife and kids. It was like a night and day change in how they were able to interact with the world. I knew it was right for them but I do hope you can find similar resources by you for whatever's going on.
