So apparently Kite is an known and important? anime movie and what I watched was a remastered version so it looked really good. The squirmy part is that imagine a version of Leon where Gary Oldman's character finds Matilda and he's the one who grooms her to be an assassin.
The sequel Kite Liberator is a new character and new setup and thus doesn't have the super creepy issues of the original. However it does have an insane setup with the ISS and space food and well ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Though it's one of those sequels where the producers decided to turn up the plotline to 11. To the point, I had to double check that I was watching what I thought I was watching. We're in space? Why are we in space?
Girly Air Force Season 1 A- From the poster (thumbnail?) and synopsis on Crunchyroll, I thought I was going to get these souped planes (JAS-37 Gripen, F-15 Eagle, JS-2, Viper, F-4 Phantom II, and a late model F-18 Rhino) fighting alien planes? spacecraft? It looked like all the pilots were cute girls (Cause Japan?) and my guess from the synopsis is that cause Women have better reflexes? Better suited to the High G forces?>
What I got is that the they're not pilots but they're actually part of the plane and thus the pilots don't even names, just go by the nickname of their type of plane so we have Gripen, Eagle, Phantom and so on. Spoiler they've been made from the recovered wreckage of the alien planes.
I did get the zoomy dogfights which is the reason I started watching but over the first four episodes or so, I was just like why? Why would one creates linked pilot / plane pairs and make the pilot human like? It's not like the synthetics in the Alien world and the pilots are general human replacements. They can fly the one plane that they were created? with. .
