My cousin Cheryn is a kindergarten teacher in Florida. Want to hear how the five year olds are doing with safety policies?

"Where do I start? Lol They do not stay in their own space. They do not keep their germs to themselves. One girl bypassed the bathroom sink and came out to the classroom sink because there was poop on her hands and needed extra soap. When I can’t open lunch items for them because of contamination, they just hand it to their friend who uses their MOUTH to open said item. Forget the fact that there’s so much they CANNOT do for themselves and there is just NO way to sanitize my hands between touching or doing things for students. Any kids who wore masks had them off before mid day. Etc, etc, etc"

I mean, sounds exactly like what you would expect for 5 year olds, can't imagine Cheryn (or any of us) are surprised. -- nm

no way was it ever going to work with young kids. Zero time to get schools and teachers ready to be safe. -- nm

My boss's wife is a teacher. She went back today (kids don't start until the end of the month - if they do).

You can't expect small children to abide by social distancing. It's absurd to suggest this can be accomplished.

the very concept is laughable. It's like trying to social distance a petri dish. -- nm
