You can't expect small children to abide by social distancing. It's absurd to suggest this can be accomplished.

Imagine the social trauma of telling a toddler that they can't go play with another toddler. That's bullshit. If they're going to reopen the schools, then the kids are going to play with each other. But *whether* the schools should be reopened is another matter.
