I saw that and dammit, so much for future proofing my purchase last year -- (edited)

That local dimming feature is what made me buy a series 6 over 5 last year. This year's 6 series is using Micro LED's which is like like local dimming on steroids (though still not OLED)
...and I'm positive that the next time time I watch HDR content and it goes to a varying dark scene, all I will see is the varying blocks of different variations of black rectangles that show the local dimming areas on my screen
