Here's the story about the derecho. I was definitely posting that night and so was Max. It was SCARY. The most violent thunderstorm I ever saw.

My power went out before there was any hint of a storm. It moved that fast.
The wind was RAGING, the rain was vicious, the lightning was like a disco strobe light, it was relentless, for at least half an hour, I don't know how long.
