We had that in my neighborhood in 2010, I was sure it was a tornado, I went to the stairwell. It was EXTREMELY destructive in a small patch.

Investigators called it a downdraft. Hundreds and hundreds of trees went down. On the property where I live I walked around and counted 20 trees down. We heard the sound of chainsaws for a month.
