And one was that you don't swing on a 3-0 pitch. There are some good ideas behind it. One being the pitcher hasn't found the plate yet and by swinging you could be helping him out by swinging at yet another ball.
There are many unwritten rules but we've seen a few of them get ignored or challenged over the last decade by the young players.
I don't think they really care about those rules and will do whatever they think helps their team win and if that means bunting to break up a no-hitter, a big no-no of the unwritten rules, they'll do it.
