PGE shuts down power in N CA when it's hot because they didn't use their profits to maintain their lines and they keep starting fires. When they get

sued, they threaten bankruptcy. Their solution is to just shut the power of for a few days at a time when it's hot. My dad broke down and put in solar and a generator. They charge 3 times as much for electricity as the Southern CA utilities. Newsom wants to take them over, but it's creating a political battle.
