In response to "I need an ST Sanity Check: are my COVID protocols excessive or is my limited group just acting irresponsibly?" by colin

I'll contrast you with my own experience

I go into work daily. I do not wear a mask in my personal office. I wear a mask when I leave the office to go to the bathroom or to work/interact with others. I am working in a reasonably small office area with 4 other guys. One is in his office most of the time. 3 others are in a more common area but desks are 10 ft+ distanced. We all basically wear masks when interacting with each other near our desks.

At home it is my wife and daughter. My daughter's boyfriend comes to our house regularly. Both work fast food (Steak and Shake). Generally speaking, they don't go anywhere else other than home/work with some occasional shopping (masks required). We have accepted that this extension of our family exists and we are taking the risks associated with having that extra person in our house regularly.

My wife works at our church. She goes into work a couple days a week, masks required. Maybe 2 or 3 people work with her. She also leads worship on the weekends.

This weekend we had lunch with my in-laws (70s) where we ate on their back porch around a table and also played dominoes. While eating, of course, we were not masked but I wore my mask otherwise. My wife did also. We walked outside with them. We also hugged them goodbye.

Generally, speaking, it seems that you're a bit more cautious than me and my family. I take similar precautions as you but I also have a lower bar and will allow exceptions with caution. I have stopped at various places, shopped, etc. I don't have a ban on those in our lives but I'm careful in them.
