That's also what makes sports interesting. If at the beginning of the season you pretty much already know who makes it and who doesn't, it's not fun

It's why playoffs are fun, any team who makes it just needs to get hot for 2 weeks and they can win it all. Otherwise we could just end the season, see who has the most victories, and give them the trophy.
