I guess the city benefited from some infrastructure funding in the new budget. For a few weeks now you couldn't drive down a street without finding

at least one lane closed because a utility was digging holes in the street.

This week they're replacing the roadway on the main boulevard closest to me. Not just resurfacing but replacing! They have two of the three lanes in either direction excavated down to the subsoil including the road across the museum driveway (with no prior notification so far as we know)

I took a chance on it this morning and it was the most dirt the Xterra's seen in a couple of years :) Volunteers with less clearance (including the board president) parked down the side-street and walked in.
