Trivia: Tropical Storm Zeta (the sixth and final greek storm of the 2005 season) was named on December 30.

It was the second latest named storm in history (Alice 1954, also on December 30, but later in the day).
They are the only two storms to exist in two calendar years as they lasted until after the new year.
(I have no idea how a December 1954 storm was named Alice, maybe they had a different naming system then)
