I’d like to know why it’s working. It’s not great acting ( it’s good), the script is some what formulaic, it’s often UNPC, it’s sort of cheesy

Nostalgia. But it’s charming in spite of those things. You root for all of them. I appreciate they took the bully and flipped the script without making the former hero seem like a total asshole.
You get the motivation even when they fuck up
