It's a Bloodsport tournament, and Awkwafina plays the daughter of the evil man hosting it, who may or may not be the Mandarin.
Apparently, they're going with Cloning Shang-Chi for the visual effect of it.
Some reports suggest Mandarin targets Shang-Chi since childhood to compete in this tournament to win the Ten Rings. Those rumors aren't as firm as the top two paragraphs, which most people agree are true.
EDIT: I should say a Bloodsport tournament WITH MAGIC!
