If they were 8 oz bottles, that's 480ml of the stuff. So she had the equivalent of 48 tablets. Normal dosages is 1 to 2 tablets.
Diphenhydramine is also in a few OTC sleeping pills (like Tylenol PM for instance) because it absolutely kicks your ass.
