Yeah, I see what you mean, deaths per capita it's not an end-all sort of stat, I agree.

It's like a discussion I chose not to engage on FB with a semi-friend / HS-mate / college-mate of mine.

I June he was all puffed up, calling people idiots left and right, looking at a table he made with the per capita deaths, saying Brazil's response was awesome and Europe sucked, that we would never reach the tall mountain of numbers presented by Italy, Spain, etc. (Can you tell he is a Bolsominion?) I was, internally, saying, dude, you are making a single-factor analysis and not paying one iota of attention to the trajectories.

He was not the only economist from a top school that made that mistake, either.
