We have similar ones as well and also a few metal ones. I drink from my own water bottle but Theresa uses the metal one with her large iced coffee.

She has no complaints and we have a few nice little scrub brushes to clean them.
I think anything other than metal will need to be tossed at some point. Plastic will get bacteria issues and silicon starts to stink after a while. You can boil the silicon to clean them but even that won't help once a smell gets into it. I had to toss a bunch of silicon ice cube trays as the smell was making the ice taste bad. We're back to plastic trays, sadly.
