Yup... you do it when you expect news to come... but you don't put it somewhere that it can be insta-published.

I still remember when I was interviewing Daniel Craig for Layer Cake when there were rumors that he was gonna be the next Bond but it hadn't been confirmed. I wrote two stories, one "yes" and one "no" with my editor on standby for a call if he gave us an answer. He said "no." Asshole :)
