I have a hard time saying that yes, I think McCain will win, but I am slightly optimistic.
Ah, fuck it. I'll go ahead and lay it out solid in case he does.
Yes, John McCain is the next president of the United States. Bookmark this shit for Wednesday.
As for "so... racism".
I wish you'd phrase it differently. Yes, a racial element is at play, but the example Ann and I are talking about are white voters who are so terrified of being called a racist that they're compelled to lie to pollsters. It's because of people like YOU and Obama himself who have been playing the race card on his behalf this whole campaign, subtlely implying that if you don't like Obama, it's probably because you're a racist.
So yes, it's racism indirectly that causes the (alleged) dishonesty to pollsters. But it's a fear of the label of racism, not racism itself manifested in the dishonest poll-ees. Do we agree on that?

I also like how you drop in "Obama himself...playing the race card...this whole campaign", as though it's fact. (nm)

paying no attention to whatever this thread is really about, I'd intentionally lie to pollsters because I hate election polling. -- nm

If you're voting for McCain, for non-racist reasons, why would you lie about voting for McCain?

What kind of chances do you see for McCain? Are you thinking he has a 90% chance of winning, or like a 55% chance, or what? -- nm
