thanks again. what kind of onions do I want to use? my gut says white. is that correct? (I love how I am beginning to understand things like

the nuances in flavor of different onions.)

do you ever cook indian? I'm thinking about making chickpea curry tomorrow if I can get to the indian market to score some garam masala. it looks easy enough...
