Star Trek is franchise. Up is, arguably, Pixar franchise.

TERM4, Night at the Museum, and Wolverine bombed compared to expected potential. They didn't have 20 million opening weekends like other summer 'headliners' have.

You may argue that if Up is franchise than all Universal films are franchise, etc. I disagree. No other big studio gets people in the door simply based on the studio name.
