From Facebook... a friend's voting experience in Georgia

UPDATE: This was resolved thanks to my AMAZING network of voting savvy friends (shout out to [redacted]). [Redacted] connected me with [Redacted] at the GA SOS and my issue has been resolved. MANY THANKS!!! Heading to the polls now!!!!!! :-)

I'm victim of the #VoterSuppression schemes in Georgia. How do I fix this? Has anyone else had problems?

Here's my situation. I changed my address in April 2020. My new address was correctly entered in the system but when processed the street number was changed by 10. I know it was entered correctly because I have autofill settings on my home PC AND I triple checked it before I hit submit.

I found out it was wrong in the system when I went to #EarlyVote in the GA Presidential Primary in May 2020. I was first denied & had to speak to a precinct manager before being allowed to vote. She informed me that my address was in the system wrong. She also said to think long & hard before trying to change it because there was "funky stuff" happening with lots of #voters info.

Then the pandemic in Georgia got really bad & I got #COVID. I was worried I might have to vote by mail so I went in & updated my address anyway so I could request a #Mailinballot. That was in July 2020. As of TODAY, my address is wrong & I've updated it twice and NOTHING!

I tried to go to the DMV to get my address updated so everything will match up. But you MUST get an appointment to be able to go to the DMV now. The first appointment I could get was not until the last week of October. The cutoff for registering for the Presidential election was Oct 5th. Who knows what will happen when I show up to the polls. Hopefully using my passport will eliminate any address conflict discussions.

This process is so frustrating. Especially for someone who has voted in every election since I was 18. The longer I've lived in Georgia, the harder it has become to #vote. Every year, the machines break more & there are fewer machines or poll places AND the lines get longer. The rules for #VoterID keep changing, despite the fact that the ONLY #VoterFraud I see happening is the fraud & voter suppression tactics being conducted by the Georgia Elections Division.

If I was not so adamant about #voting, I probably would have given up already. But nope, y'all picked the wrong one. If I got to bring a dram of blood to ID myself and two witness to my live birth, I WILL!!!

Has anyone else had problems with voting???
