Generally, I'm thinking Biff in Back to the Future 2 had it right. You need to know the outcome of one major sporting event and then bet the house. The question is: Does your betting the house influence the outcome?

Of course, other good answers involve: Not killing that hobo and convincing myself not to marry that whore.
