have traded him. I didn't read anything that said he had a no trade clause and I highly doubt he did.
He definitely has trade value and I'm sure a bunch of contending teams would love to have his arm in their pen. His salary was maybe a little on the high side but nothing crazy at $10m. He was exceptional all season and has been for a couple of years.

To just let him go to save $1m seems foolish and incredibly cheap
