I'm still not a big Angelos fan, but he got one right.

When he killed the Penn/Roberts for LaRoche/Giles trade. Atlanta sold high on LaRoche. He's a .270 hitter who will hit 20-25 HRs. Maybe bump that up a little for paying home games at Camden Yards. Giles was released and finished the next year, his last in the majors, barely above the Mendoza line for SD.
Meanwhile Roberts is a .290 hitter. He only hits about half (a little less) the HRs of LaRoche, but he's stolen over 100 bases since that deal was shot down. Penn was bad, but then traded for Andino. While not a great hitter, he a good hitter for a SS, and he can make some great plays. I was never a fan of that proposed trade, and I'm even less so now.
Of course, the big problem was that Angelos hired people to run the team who thought it would be a good trade. Signing off on the Maine/Julio for Benson trade was pretty bad, too.
