That sounds so tempting. I'd have to be willing to make a cross country flight but trying to find a sweet spot after the end of the year holidays and missing the long weekends in Jan / Feb seems like something I'd at least look into

Or closer to now, early December as that was historically known for relative lack of crowd experiences which you describe.

I completely remember the early park hours as being used to Disneyland hours coupled with time zone change, it always seemed like when we were just hitting stride, all the parks were closing. The no park hopping is kind of a bummer.

Your report does have me considering arriving on Sunday or red-eying it to arrive Monday morning. I'd have the advantage that I would only have to drag me around whichever park I chose if I try to fly and enter a park in a 12 hour or less time frame.
