I'd like to point out that Oregon does 100% vote-by-mail and we get our results within an hour of polls closing.

That's only a slightly humorous slam. What I'm really saying is that if the new policies allowing vote by mail/absentee voting in so many states become defacto in the future, then the process will get streamlined and this won't ever happen again.
