In response to "ST Poll: Are you an "I love you" family? Is it different with you and your kids (if applicable) vs. what you grew up with? -- nm" by oblique

Yes 99.9% now. 100% not the way I grew up

I made an active decision to tell my kid(s) from the beginning I love them because I didn't hear it til I was 13 and it was only after I threw an angsty fit and demanded I be able to live with my yappy Aunt.

Oddly my mom now has a Alzheimer studder that contains " I love ya, I love ya, I love ya". It is never not jarring but it is sweet in a way.
