He's deserving of the award and I'm not trying to say he didn't earn it. If it's all about stats then Trout should win every year.

DJ was the batting champ, tied with him for WAR and near the top in most stats so the stats between them is basically a wash.
I hear you on Abreu's impact to the team and that's why I would argue that DJ should have at least been second if not the winner.
He carried the Yankees throughout the season with yet another year of the big guys being injured.
I think I'm more upset about Ramirez getting second than Abreu winning it.
