I thought he couldn't possibly be more popular this time than in 2016, but he got 11 million more votes in 2020.

Way too many people liked what they saw from a Trump presidency.

Fortunately Biden got 15 million more votes than Clinton and got enough in the right places to take the EC.

Trump lost the PV in 2016 by ~3 million votes. He's losing the 2020 PV by about twice that. So at least way more people did NOT like what they saw from a Trump presidency.
