Yes, but there are also a significant number of republicans that don't like the position it puts them in. They don't like having to lie and pretend

idiocy is just fine. And they're afraid they'll get attacked from the right every day. Bernstein's list of 21 senators for instance. They have an opportunity here and they're too cowardly or stupid to act.
