some states have cut prison pop. way down, already pols are getting neg press over the few that commit crimes the same week....and police

just aren't arresting petty crime, not even car theft.
a local friend had a new Iphone stolen, it was gps'd and she could track it to the house...now I'd guess someone stealing phones is also stealing lots of shit, doing drugs blah blah and an excuse to raid with a search warrant would uncover a crime ring that's bringing misery to hundreds...but they flat told her there's nothing they are going to do.
shoplifting is way up
fedex guy said he tried to stop theives raiding another truck, they beat him up, cops arrested them but just cited and let them go, that was a felony mugging, burglery...nothing...
