I'm also not convinced that she asked for 3.

She said there was a language barrier. I don't know how she could miscommunicate 3 to 56, but maybe it could happen. Maybe she actually told him 56, or something like that, either on accident or on purpose. Maybe she meant to say three stars but it was heard as "a third of my face in stars" or something similar.
