Watching the Heaven's Gate doc on HBO really does open your eyes to how actual intelligent people can get sucked into cults.

How do people believe in this stuff?
It's mind boggling to see that these smart, highly intelligent people get pulled in and say (and believe) the most outlandish, seemingly crazy, stuff.
