Ok..so I haven't said anything about this stuff here, but I feel I need to get it out and then get on to getting the fuck out of 2020. So, my year...

in terms of family health issues:

In January - my dad found himself down and out with a "flu" for like 11 days. Never felt so bad. But, got over it.

Some 60 days later, he developed an irregular heartbeat. This results in 5 stents being put in as well as a few return trips to have his heart shocked back into rhythm.

Looking back - doc is pretty sure he had the Coves and this heart issue is a lasting side effect of the virus.

My step-dad (also the guy who actually raised me) - well, he has low kidney function now - he's at like 55% of what his kidneys should be doing. He has a follow up in a couple weeks to see what the actual status of this is, but if it keep dropping, he could end up on dialysis and/or the transplant list.

A couple months ago, my mom went to the ER with a stomach ache that just would not go away. Turns out it wasn't her actual stomach, she had a tumor blocking her bile duct.

Tests confirm pancreatic cancer. Thankfully - she was a stage 1 and the placement of the tumor was able to give her a sign that most people don't get.

She had a Whipple Procedure done - which cut out all kinds of shit and then put it all back together again. She had her first round of chemo a couple weeks ago and had a seriously adverse reaction to one of the drugs that landed her back in the hospital just a few days before Christmas.

She's back home now, feeling much better, was able to have a great Christmas and is hoping to get her 2nd chemo treatment tomorrow - with a change in drug dose that should alleviate the reaction from last time.

And then to cap it all off - my step-gramma (my step dad's mom) celebrated her 97th birthday on Dec 22. I swore this woman would live forever.

Buuuuuut - not in fucking 2020. On her birthday, she started showing the first symptoms of Covid. About 2 hours ago - the hospital gave the family 30 minutes to video into her ICU room to basically say our good byes. This woman who has been healthy as a horse for 97 years - gets to leave this world in a goddam hospital ICU surrounded by absolutely fucking NONE of her family.

So yeah - fuck 2020 with all the dicks! I'm so fucking angry and done - you have no fuckin idea.

Anyway - not looking for sympathy and all that - I just have to get it out and frankly, this is the place where I can do that...so thank you for that.
