This is a horrible way of thinking, but I honestly think there will be violence/deaths before this ends.

These fringe extremist / terrorists are going to push until shots are eventually fired, and people are hurt or killed - most likely the police/military or civilians.
Once that happens, people will take a step back, not rush forward.
I think that most people think "civil war" they are going to be able to do it from their couches, or come to their door. Those that are *actually* gearing up for "war" are a very, very small subgroup.
