Trumpers are likely to win the party. I think some traditional republicans felt like this was the inflection point where the grown ups could take over again. You see virtually all the mainstream leading conservative voices and media pushing for impeachment (the National Review, WSJ, various traditional republican leaders), and yet 76% of self-identifying republicans think Trump is doing a great job and doesn't deserve any of this. Traditional republicans need to realize that they need to break off and become the spoilers of the Trumpers instead of worrying that it will happen the other way around.
