In fact, values are at the heart of that. If you are spending lifetimes-worth of money on something you will lock away forever, you have lost the plot on society. If all the Mickey Mantle cards disappeared tomorrow, what would society lose? Arguably nothing. Loss of a Rembrandt would at least represent a los of culture. Like fuck this angries up the blood.
